Description

Are you rethinking the organisation of the non-fiction section of your school library? Discover a better way to browse!

This printable resource offers a child-friendly alternative to the traditional Dewey Decimal System – designed especially for our little kiwi learners. With bright visuals, custom categories and culturally inclusive language, it helps tamariki find what they’re looking for faster. Perfect for encouraging independant browsing & celebrating the local stories that reflect our diverse communities.

This resource is Māori Atua themed – are you looking for general kiwi themed labels? Check out the other resources in the Library category.

This set includes:

  • 45 different Māori Atua labels (4 per horizontal A4 page)
  • A ‘quick print’ PDF version that shows each Atua image labelled with their Māori name in bold, and a smaller description below (e.g. Tane Māhuta, God of the forests & birds)
  • An editable file that allows you to add your own wording to each image before printing, to personalise the labels for your space. ***YOU WILL NEED POWER POINT TO BE ABLE TO OPEN & USE THE EDITABLE FILE***
  • Each image is also available in a pre-formatted sticker-sheet master containing 64 mini labels per A4 sheet, each mini label measuring approximately 2.3 X 2.0cm. These mini-book labels are designed to match the main shelf labels for ease of locating, filing and grouping books to the correct shelf.
  • 45 JPEG images showing each ‘mini-label’ atua in a row of 7 (great for creating different sized labels by resizing or cropping)
