If you’re looking for something to brighten up your classroom space, then you can’t go past the cheerful rays of radiant Rā!
This R = Rā (the sun) activity set includes:
• A selection of little suns to colour and complete to create a 3D hanging ‘sun-ball’ (circles include: letter tracing, letter R colouring, colouring sun faces & completing the faces using symmetry)
• A selection of larger sun pictures to colour in hot fiery sun colours (or use the ‘half face’ options as a symmetry activity before colouring) Assemble the larger pictures back to back and fill with scrap paper to create a 3D hanging Rā (*we also used glitter, ribbon and fabric pieces from an old lei to embellish)
• A supporting photograph sequence so you can see how the activity is used and assembled, plus the completed product
• A ’bookmark’ style strip of paper on the left hand side of the sheet that matches the activity and letter being focused on—perfect for slipping into the kid’s book bag at the end of the day to support them to share their learning when they take their creations home
